Sweet & Spicy Mini Tofu Pow
Ingredients:
Cooking Oil
2 tbsp Water
4 tbsp Sweet & Spicy Chili Sauce
Cilantro (for garnish)
Steps:
Heat pan to medium heat. Add oil when hot.
Fry DSI Mini Tofu Pow until crispy.
Once crispy, turn heat to low.
Add sauce & water.
Mix to combine. Top with coriander.
Our Mini Tofu Pow is made ready to eat — just add your sauce of choice and heat everything up!
We used Aroy-D Sweet & Chili Sauce, but feel free to experiment and make your own!
Here are some of our favourite sauces:
SPICY MAYO:
1/2 cup mayonnaise (we suggest kewpie mayo!)
2 tbsp sriracha, or more to taste
CLASSIC CHILI OIL:
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp chili oil
1 tbsp rice vinegar
1 tbsp sesame oil
1 tbsp water
TERIYAKI SAUCE:
*Note that this makes 1 cup — half the recipe or save the leftovers!
1/2 cup sake
1/2 cup mirin
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup sugar
Combine all ingredients in a saucepan. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat and stir until sugar is dissolved. Simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until sauce thickens. When sauce is thick and bubbling, pour out roughly 2/3 into a container to save. The rest can be used to mix into the Mini Tofu Pow.
